This place is truly a gem to Newark. I'm happy that I was in the plaza and decided to give it a try. Roman's service is top-tier for creating a memorable experience as a first time guest. The restaurant has a locally-loved vibe to it which I love. And the food-- oh my goodness! My first blackened fish taco made me almost come back in to order ANOTHER one for the road before I actually left I definitely came back the next day for lunch again. Easily 5 stars all around! Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

I came here after a card show and wanted to try something new. The location is quite crowded because there's a few restaurants and other business popular in the area. When I came in, it's kind of like a lunch line where you ask what you want in your food. The person working there was hella nice and she was patient with me while ordering. They had a bunch of meats on the menu and a hella add ons you can choose from. The Tacos were good, carne asada and al pastor. The burrito was good also, but I will stick to the tacos.

I came here to try the asada fries one of my friends had recommended to me and I love them! So much I had to save some for later so I asked for a to go box. The people behind the counter were nice and very attentive, and I love the music playing in the background... I was dancing a little bit in my seat. I would definitely come back and would recommend coming here if you're looking for fresh ingredients.

I have been eating at Cal Eats for at least once every week for about a month now,and it's safe to say I keep going back because it's that good! I order the blackened fish tacos and the shrimp tacos every time. I highly recommend those two. The blackened fish taco is my favorite, it has a great smokey flavor and the sauce is amazing! The shrimp taco is the runner up. It does come with rice, which I found to be very complimentary to the shrimp. I would only say they could add more shrimp to it, but for what you pay it's definitely a steal. Chips and salsa are great too! He offers different options of salsa and they are all very delicious! My personal favorite is the avocado salsa. A lot of beverage choices, I always get the agua fresca de Jamaica. The location has plenty of parking as it is located in a shopping center. It has ample seating available and high chairs for the kiddos! What I appreciate is the owners kindness and gratitude every single time! You can tell he is proud of his food and loves what he does. He is kind and personable, if it's your first time he gives your a rundown of the menu and explains it. Definitely worth it!

The food I had here was tasty for the most part! I ordered a steak and shrimp bowl. You choose your bowl toppings (from rice to beans to salsa etc) the way you would do so at Chipotle. While your bowl is getting assembled, a worker will cook your choice of meat on the stovetop right behind. I loved that the meat was freshly prepared! The steak and shrimp was really tasty and savory. It balanced well with all the other fixings like lettuce, pico, etc. Also, they definitely have more tender meat than Chipotle! AND for a better price! However, my mom did say that her fajita bowl was way too salty and she ended up not finishing it. Workers were very friendly and quick with our orders. The interior is pretty small and not the coziest but I figure this place would be really popular for takeout orders. IG: chelchomps
